Animates provides 1-hour interactive workshops for groups of all ages and abilities. Based around the Environmental Science aspect of the National Curriculum, in particular Living Things.

Investigate extensive and varied interactive resources, such as whole Leopard Skins, Turtles, Caiman Crocodiles, Birds of prey, Tiger and Ivory Products, Elephant Tusks and many more, all of which have been seized from the illegal animal trade by HM Revenue and Customs from around Scotland. Smuggled into the country illegally, these items give a unique and tactile dimension to the workshops, whose overall focus is raising awareness of endangered species, as well as the protection and conservation of our environment. Developing an understanding of some of the main threats to our natural world, as well as learning the key factors and importance of food chains, habitats, life cycles and ecosystems, each workshop provides an exceptional compliment to the classroom based projects of its kind.

Bringing the workshops to life and creating a truly “animated” learning experience are the vibrant, energetic facilitators. With the aid of an exotic live guest or two, such as an Australian Bearded Dragon, Tortoise, Whites Tree Frog and Giant African Land Snails, the workshops will provide an interactive, unique and diverse experience unlike any other.

With hands-on activities in every area, suitable for all age groups and abilities, as well as the dynamic and unusual resources on display, interaction and practical learning is the object of the day.
